Silvia Daza Dueñas

Hello, my name is Silvia. I`m 15 years old and I`m a 3º ESO student at I.E.S. "José Alcántara" in Belmez, Cordoba. We travelled to Leeds seven students and three teachers. Fortunatelly I have enjoyed my stay in England and I am sharing it with all of you.

The First day, we arrived to Cordoba train station at 7 o'clock in the morning and we caught a train to Malaga. In Malaga we caught a bus that went to the airport. We travelled to Manchester by plane. When we arrived at the Manchester airport, we met the French pupils. Then, the Spanish and French pupils traveled together to Leeds. In Leeds, I met my exchange partner, Lizzie, and her family. Lizzie has got a small sister, Charlotte, a dog and two hansters. We went to Lizzie's home. At half past six, we went to an Italian restaurant for dinner. After it, we were watching TV and speaking. At ten o'clock we went to bed.

The second day, we got up at seven o'clock and we had our breakfast. At half past eight we went to Temple Moor high school. We joined the pupils and the teachers and the English pupils showed the school to the Spanish, French and Turkish students. At nine o'clock Lizzie and I went to a natural science lesson. Then we went to other lesson with Mercedes and Tia. Then, we joined with the rest of the group. We did a tour of Leeds and we walked alond the canal. We were doing some shopping around Leeds City Centre. Mercedes, Tia, Lizzie, Manolo and I drank a coffe in the Starbucks coffee. At five o'clock, we returned to the house. Lizzie's family and I went to swimming pool because Charlotte was doing springboard diving in the pool. Later, we went to a shopping center and we were having dinner in a McDonald's.

The third day, we went to York. We visited the Jorvik Viking centre, Jorvik DIG and the Shambles. We had lunch and we went shopping in the York centre. Then, Belén, Nathalie, Raquel and I drank a hot chocolate. At half past four we returned to Leeds. At night, we went to a Indian restaurant with Lizzie's family, her sister, her grandma, her grandad, her aunt and her parents.

The fourth day, we arrived at Temple Moor by 9.00 am. We went to the National Coal Mining Museum in Wakefield. There, we saw the mines, the stables and the museum. We had lunch in the museum cafe. Then, we returned to Leeds by bus. At five o'clock, all studentes involved went to a closing ceremony at Temple Moor. We had diner, danced, toke a lot of photos with all students and we received a diploma. We had great fun at party, but when the party was over we were all very sad and some of us began to cry because we had to say goodbye.

The fifth day, we arrived at the hich school early in the morning. We said goodbye to English and Turkish pupils. Then we went to Leeds train station by taxi. We caught a train to go to London. When we arrived in london, we went at the hotel and we had lunch in a McDonald's. After it, we saw many important sites in London, like the Big Ben, the Buckingham Palace, The London eye, the St. James's Park, St. Paul's Cathedral, th Towr Bridge... At half past ten, we had dinner in a restaurant and then we returned to the hotel.

This travel was fascinating. I met a lot of people and I made many friends from England, France and Turkey. I had great fun in England.
